No one told me....

No one told me that I would be so constipated while pregnant that I would be sitting on the toilet screaming at 2 am in the morning. Let me tell you now, that was not a pleasant experience. When I finally did manage to poop, I could barely walk afterwards and the toilet was clogged up. {There is a disclaimer on this site...I warned you it could be graphic...}

Thanks to the miracle of MiraLax, I am able to poop a little more freely now and have learned my lesson about not drinking enough water.

Also, no one told me that if you get sick when you're pregnant, you can't take anything that will make you feel better...bah humbug!

I peed on the stick, now what?

The day I found I was pregnant was the most exciting day of my life. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for two months. I couldn't believe that we had actually succeeded!

December 3rd, I was sitting in my office, working on my English final and I had to pee. I hadn't started my period, so I decided to take a pregnancy test. I peed on the stick and then went to get something from the kitchen to drink. When I came back in the bathroom, the pregnancy test already showed a clear positive. I was in shock. I even dug the instructions back out of the trash to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong. Nope, I was still pregnant!

The first thing I did was call my sister. I made her swear not to tell anyone if I told her a secret. She swore and then I told her. She was so excited! She told me I needed to call the doctor and make an appointment. I did all that, but then what was I supposed to do!? Well, of course I had to tell my husband! But it was still 3 hours before he got home from work! So, I googled ways to tell him the big news!

I made two circles from construction paper, one pink and one blue. I wrote "Guess what?" on one side of each and "Mama's Pregnant" on the other sides. I laminated the circles with tape and punched a hole in the top to tie a string through. Then I humiliated my dogs by making them wear the circles until my husband got home. :) When he came home, he couldn't get the girls to sit still long enough to read it. When he finally did read it, he said, "Are you really?" Then he cried. Lemme tell ya, I have a great husband.

Since we've found out that we're going to be parents, my husband, Jeremy has been really great about taking care of me and making sure I take my vitamins and eat right. I've been sick for about a month now and he has been to Wal-Mart more times than I'm sure he would like to admit. Eventually I'm going to be better again...hopefully.
