39 weeks
I know, I know....I'm a horrible blogger. But can you blame me!? I've got more important stuff to do. Like cooking a baby! This baby doesn't want to be born yet. I haven't had any Braxton Hicks contractions, I'm only dilated about 1 cm (maybe), baby's head isn't engaged on my cervix and I'm five days from my due date!
My doctor doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks, since the baby is already measuring about 8.6 #s, which is what I weighed at birth! The hospital won't let me go past 42 weeks. SOoooo, since I don't really want to try to birth a 10 pounder, I'm probably going to be induced on the 7th or 8th. My next doctor's appt is tomorrow morning with a nurse practitioner, whom I have never met. Then, my next appt is the day after my due date, on the 6th. My doctor and I will decide then when to schedule my induction.
Prayers for an all-natural, smooth delivery would be wonderful! I can't wait to meet our little "Acorn!"

31 Weeks and 3 days
Playing music for the baby resulted in a lopsided baby bump! He/she moved to be closer to the music!

30 Weeks!
So our 4D sonogram and appointment afterwards was very disappointing. The baby had his/her face too close to the placenta to get any really good pics and the woman doing the sonogram was not the best at her job. I really prefer the girl who did our sonogram two weeks ago, but she was not there. So we spent $175 for some really blurry and mostly unrecognizable photos and a video. Not worth it, in my opinion. The little black and white 3D shot we got a few weeks ago was better than this:
Although, that has to be the cutest little yawn in utero, ever! I am so excited to meet our little acorn! He/She kept putting his/her hands over his/her face the entire time we were there, so there are very few clear shots without a hand in the way.
I didn't get to see my doctor at this last appointment and I have only seen her maybe twice. We're getting down to the wire and it's starting to tick me off that she's NEVER there. For our next appointment (next week), I am determined to stay all day if I have to so we can go over my birth plan. I self-diagnosed this breakout that's all over my chest, back, and shoulders, as pruritic foliculitis. I told the nurse practitioner and she said that's not what it is. I think I just need to ask the doctor...
Other than the acne-like breakout, I'm doing great! My feet are more apt to swell lately if I am on them for too long, but as long as I can get off of them, it doesn't bother me too badly. Still peeing every 20 minutes or so and still unable to sleep comfortably for very long.
My friend Rebecca is due in June and I would greatly appreciate it if y'all would please pray for her and her baby boy to have a safe and smooth delivery!
Til next time!

29 Weeks!
Only 11 weeks left!
I'm feeling great and everything is going really well! I had my glucose test two weeks ago and I do not have gestational diabetes. I also had my thyroid levels checked again and they're well under the limit during pregnancy.
My placenta has moved up and is no longer near my cervix! YAY!
At our last appointment, the baby was head down, but I'm
certain he/she has turned since then! This little acrobat has been flipping
like crazy lately!
I have an abundance of fluid, which is great. Just makes me feel like
a water balloon. lol.
My blood pressure has been perfect every appointment and it was 100/55 two
weeks ago on the 10th.
Other than heartburn, peeing every thirty minutes or so (which has never
slacked off for the past 20 weeks or so, especially at night!), and horrible
acne-like rashes on my chest and back, I haven't had any new symptoms.
Well, my feet do swell more often now, especially if I'm on them
too long or I don't drink enough water during the day.
All the baby boy and girl clothes from newborn to 3 months have been washed,
folded and hung up! We're pretty much prepared for our little bundle of joy as
far as clothing him/her! Baby shower is on June 2nd and then
we'll have a better idea of what we still need to get.
Here's our little "acorn"!
Our next appointment is this Friday. I will update on how we're both doing then!

Week 23: Nesting
Y'all know that I have no concentration right now, right!? Barely even remember to update Facebook every once in awhile, let alone keep up with two blogs! :P
So, my nesting instinct has kicked in. I feel like it kicked in early, but maybe not. I have a friend that I went to school with who is pregnant also and she is not as far along as I am and has already bought nursery furniture! Kudos to her!
The week before last, on a Thursday I believe, I had Jeremy help me rearrange the bedroom and clean it up. We moved the bed from one wall to the other wall and then moved the rest of the stuff in the room around it. I had been cleaning like a fool that day and after doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes and picking up our room, I decided I couldn't stand the bed the way it was, so I HAD to rearrange it! LOL.
The following Monday, I felt that we needed to go ahead and start getting the nursery room ready so that the baby would have somewhere to be when he/she arrives. (which is not for quite awhile, I'm praying!) Anywho...I had Jeremy help me move the bedroom we had just rearranged (which is the smaller of the two bedrooms in our apartment) to the actual master bedroom, which is on the other side of the apartment. :) Only took forever! Of course, he won't let me lift anything so it took even longer because he was basically doing it all by himself. We got our bedroom set up and functional and I proceeded to switch the bathroom stuff that we needed, to the bathroom in the master bedroom.
Needless to say, we didn't get completely done, so the room that is intended for the nursery is still a giant mess because we have more stuff than we know what to do with. Jeremy did, however, get all the baby stuff into the closet in that room and moved all the other junk that was in the closet of the spare room (which used to be the master, but is now our room...confused yet?) to the storage closet. He also shoved all my scrapbooking stuff in there! :( We just have to haul off all the stuff we don't want that we've been trying to donate for several months and then rearrange somewhere to get all the stuff that is not baby-friendly out of the room. Phew! Nesting is hard work!
That same week, we got a brand-new LG washer and dryer and I am all set to start washing some baby clothes! I can't wait!

20 Weeks!
I've reached that middle-of-the-pregnancy milestone. I feel like the time is just flying by!
We went to the doctor Friday to watch our baby groove! I really couldn't see much because the sonographer kept telling me to lay my head back...
Please keep in mind, we do NOT want to know the gender! If you think you can tell from the video, please don't tell me! :)
Our "little acorn" has some long arms!

15 Weeks!
Other than being extremely nauseous this morning, I'm feeling a lot better. I had to get up at 6 am to get ready for my OBGYN appointment today and I only got a few hours of sleep last night because J was snoring so loudly.
Anywho, the baby is doing well and is really active! He/She was facing my spine today during the sonogram (couldn't get a good monitoring on the heartbeat with the portable detector thingy, so we got to see the baby today! Woot!) and was wiggling around a lot! He/She had his/her feet crossed at the ankles and the technician was able to get a really good pic of one of the feet. :P

We went to Babies R' Us Friday night and bought the stroller/carseat combo. J picked it out, but since I like the colors, it's easy to fold and one of the top brands sold, I really like it.
Here's a pic of it on Babies R' Us' website. There is a better pic here. The color/pattern is Zest! It's really lime-green and charcoal. Whaddya think?
Well...that's all for now. Next month, I'll have the anatomy screening which means I'll get a DVD of my little wiggly acorn! Yay!

I need another pillow...
I'm sure I read somewhere that pregnant women are never comfortable, but no one told me it would be this uncomfortable in my 14th week. I turn over in bed and my breasts hurt, my stomach hurts and my hips hurt. I'm constantly turning so my hips aren't under too much pressure. *phew* It's a workout trying to sleep. I know I need to get my sleep in now before the baby comes, but this is impossible! I already sleep with five pillows!
Anyone have any recommendations for being more comfortable?

2nd Trimester...here I come!
Yep, I've reached my second trimester and I haven't written a blog post in a really long time. Sorry 'bout that. Pregnancy makes you forget EVERYTHING! Here is a list of a few things that have changed or developed (read: ramblings):
- Pooping is easier..I KNOW you all wanted to know that!
- The
morning sicknessall-day nausea (progesterone poisoning) has eased up some. Only nauseous now when I don't get enough sleep or enough to eat. - I'm distracted ALL the time. Like right now...I'm supposed to be writing a thesis statement for a Literature paper...haven't even read the material or requirements.
- My hair is still falling out in huge clumps...not cool! I thought it was supposed to get thicker and shinier.
- I'm hot all the time. I'm currently wearing a night shirt and undies. It's only 46°F outside.
- I am never comfortable at night and can't sleep most of the time. I sleep with 5 pillows, two huge stuffed caterpillars (which double as pillows) and a very loud snoring husband.
- Everything makes me hungry...or nauseous. If people are talking about food on Facebook...I get the munchies. If people are talking about gross stuff (bacon-wrapped deep-fried snickers) I get nauseous.
- I have completed my Babies 'R' Us Registry, including online and going into the store with the hubby. Scanning stuff is fun!
- I went through the baby clothes for boy and girl last night ( I have all of my sister's son and daughters' hand-me-downs) and took out enough outfits for at the hospital and the first week at home. Since we aren't finding out the gender of our little "acorn," I want to be prepared. (Yes, at three months!)
- My dog (who was supposed to have been spayed) is in heat. That is so gross.
- My main blog, Honey Bunches of "Oaks" is still sporting a Christmas layout. I will soon remedy that....hopefully.
- Between my sister and I, there are at least 20 pregnant friends/acquaintances on FB.
- It is almost three o'clock and I have accomplished absolutely nothing today...
